Flodesk Review: Everything You Need to Know About Flodesk in 2025
Flodesk is a young email marketing platform but it’s very popular with small business owners; and with good reason.
So in this post, I’ll share everything you need to know about Flodesk, including what makes this platform different, whether it’s right for you, and main features it offers. Let’s dive in!
Heads up: this post may contain affiliate links. In other words, if you make a purchase using my link, you won’t pay a dime more but I’ll earn a small commission. My chips and salsa fund thanks you from the bottom of its heart… er stomach?
What Makes Flodesk Different?
The main reason why Flodesk stands out from other email service providers is its ease of use. It’s one of the most intuitive email platforms out there which makes it a perfect choice for new business owners or even those who just want a simple email marketing tool that works.
Another reason why Flodesk is so different from other platforms is that it offers beautiful email templates that make it super easy to create branded newsletters and sales campaigns.
Lastly, Flodesk now has one-click integration with Squarespace and ThriveCart so it's super easy to integrate it with your Squarespace website or your ThriveCart checkouts.
This means you can easily add your Squarespace or ThriveCart customers to a list in Flodesk and send them post-purchase emails without having to pay for extra tools like Zapier.
But what else does Flodesk have to offer and how does it stack up to the competition? Let’s take a look at the main features Flodesk has to offer.
Flodesk Features
Here are some of my favorite Flodesk features that make this platform a breeze to use.
Intuitive User Interface
During my 13 years in business, I've tried a lot of different platforms for email marketing. From MailChimp to ActiveCampaign, I've experienced and seen both simple and complex user interfaces. And I have to say, Flodesk is one of the most intuitive tools I've ever had the pleasure of using.
In fact, when it first came out, Flodesk was the tool that helped me fall in love with email marketing. Before Flodesk, I dreaded going into my email marketing platform and having to create a simple newsletter, let alone a more complex sequence of emails.
But Flodesk changed that with its simplicity and made me look forward to emailing my list every week.
Much like Squarespace, Flodesk uses a drag and drop interface to compose your emails. On top of that, you can easily set your brand colors within Flodesk, making sure your newsletters are completely on brand.
Beautiful Forms and Email Templates
I have to be honest here: Flodesk is not the only email marketing platform that I adore. But out of all the email platforms I've used, Flodesk has the most beautiful forms and email templates that I have seen. And as a designer, I am biased towards that.
All of Flodesk's templates are very modern, clean, and mobile responsive. They have plenty of premade blocks and layouts that you can add to your marketing emails which makes creating a newsletter super fun. Plus, they definitely stand out in the inbox.
If you're looking for a platform that will make it easy to create a polished and branded newsletter, Flodesk definitely takes the cake here. (Pssst, if you're looking for Flodesk templates to get you started, check out the Flodesk templates in my shop)!
List Organization
A lot of platforms will offer multiple ways to organize your subscribers, Groups, tags, segments, lists… It can get very confusing and overwhelming knowing how to organize your list.
Flodesk keeps things simple. You can organize your list into different segments, based on which form they signed up for. You can have unlimited segments and you can also add subscribers to segments manually or during upload if you're coming from a different platform.
This makes it easy to send emails only to certain subscribers while keeping the overwhelm out of the picture. Honestly, if you're not a business owner with complex funnels and tons of different offers, this way of organizing your list is perfect for segmenting your audience.
Automated Workflows
Flodesk uses workflows to send automated email sequences to your subscribers based on certain actions. You can set up an automated workflow when someone fills out a specific Flodesk form or when they are added to a specific segment.
Within a workflow, you can add a delay between two emails as well as set actions that happen based on certain conditions or you can remove them from a specific segment or add them to another one.
Flodesk Checkouts
This feature is perfect if you want to start selling digital products and you don't have a website yet or if you want to easily connect your digital product sales with your list.
Flodesk has plenty of checkout templates you can use to sell digital products, courses, services, and more. They all use the drag and drop interface so they're easy to customize. You can connect the checkout to your Stripe account to accept payments.
Analytics
This is yet another area where Flodesk keeps things simple. You can easily see how many subscribers opened your emails, how many of them clicked on your links as well as which device your email was opened on.
On top of that, you can see what is the best time to send emails based on your subscriber activity and engagement with your emails and re-send any email to people who haven't opened it the first time.
Instagram Integration
This is a fun little feature I haven't come across on other platforms. But if you use Instagram, you can easily connect your account with Flodesk and have your Instagram feed showing up in your emails. This is a great way to give your subscribers a glimpse into your brand personality and grow your account.
Other Integrations
Given that Flodesk is still a pretty young platform when compared to other big names such as ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign or MailChimp, it doesn't have as many integrations as those platforms. However, they are continually working on adding new features and I imagine the list of integrations will keep growing.
However, they do integrate natively with Squarespace, Wix, and ThriveCart, as well as platforms such as ManyChat (which is amazing if you use the popular "comment below to receive xyz gift” method on Instagram) and Interact.
They also integrate with Zapier and Pabbly so it's easy to connect Flodesk with any other platform you might need to connect it with.
Pricing
At the time of writing this article (September 2025) Flodesk offers simple and straightforward pricing. You get unlimited everything (subscribers, emails, workflows, forms) for $38/mo paid monthly or $35/mo paid annually on their Professional Plan.
You can also sign up for their Advanced Plan to get access to their checkout feature which is $64/mo paid monthly or $59/mo paid annually.
And if you use my link*(affiliate link, my chips and salsa fund thank you), you can get 50% off your first year, bringing your cost down to just $19/mo.
BUT, Flodesk has announced that their Unlimited pricing model will be going away on November 28th, 2025.
However, anyone who signs up for Flodesk between now and November, will be grandfathered into the Unlimited pricing model for as long as they remain an active user of Flodesk.
In other words, if you've been thinking about signing up for Flodesk*(affiliate link), now is the time to do so.
Flodesk Pros and Cons
So now that we’ve covered all the features that Flodesk has to offer, let’s talk about its pros and cons.
Flodesk Pros:
Beautiful email designs straight out of the box - it’s really hard to make a Flodesk email look ugly.
Flat-rate price makes this platform a no-brainer when you’re comparing it to other email marketing platforms. If you have a large list but a limited budget and relatively simple email marketing funnels, Flodesk is definitely worth a try
Ease of use. You’d be hard pressed to find a platform that’s easier to use than Flodesk
Unlimited emails, subscribers, and workflows. Again, for a flat-rate price, you won’t find a better deal than this one.
Flodesk checkouts are perfect if you want to start selling digital products or services and want to keep it all under the same roof
Flodesk Cons:
Workflows can only be triggered when someone joins a segment or a form. Not ideal if you need more than one way for an automation to start
Limited native integrations however they do integrate with Zapier and Pabbly so you can easily connect your Flodesk forms with other platforms.
Is Flodesk Right For You?
Flodesk is an easy to use email marketing platform that makes email marketing less overwhelming. It’s a great choice for anyone who wants to reduce their monthly email marketing costs and doesn’t need super complicated and advanced funnels.
However, if you need advanced automations or multiple automation (workflow) triggers, then a more robust platform like Kartra or ConvertKit might be a better fit for you.
