Brand and Website Design for Megan Hibar
This website is feminine but not girly.
Today, I’d like to introduce you to Megan. Megan is a digital marketing strategist behind Abandon The Grind. When Megan approached me about designing her website, one of her main requirements was that the website has a feminine but not overly girly feel. Megan wanted to move away from WordPress as she wanted to simplify and streamline her business.
Another thing that was bugging Megan was that she had a logo she wasn’t happy with nor did she feel like it represented her business well.
In a nutshell, Megan wanted something clean, simple, and cohesive and entrusted me with the process of bringing her vision to life. Here’s what Megan had to say about working with me.
Ana: What were the details of your situation before you decided to work with me? What benefits did you want to achieve?
Megan: My biggest reason for working with you was that I knew I needed to really work on getting a cohesive and dynamic brand set, as well as a website that conveyed the message at the heart of my business.
Ana: What was it like when you were responsible for doing all of your own design and branding? What thoughts and feelings did you have during the work you did and once you were finished?
Megan: I HATED it. Hated it. I wanted it to look a specific way and figured that doing it myself would be the best way to achieve that. It was hard, I had to spend hours watching videos and looking up stuff on the internet to come up with any sort of idea on what to do, and I just didn't achieve what I ultimately wanted.
Ana: Do you feel like doing your own design ever held your business back?
Megan: I personally think, yes.
Ana: Were there any fears or concerns you had before working with me? How did those compare to your experience?
Megan: No fears! I had worked with other designers in the past who just did not get what it was that I wanted for my site, despite me being very specific about my wants and needs. You really managed to get my messaging, my color scheme, and my aesthetic like no one had before.
Ana: How has your business and attitude towards these things changed since we've started working together?
Megan: I realized hiring out is absolutely much more worth it in the long run than I ever anticipated.
Ana: How would you describe the overall process of working together?
Megan: It felt like a giant weight had been lifted off of my shoulders and I could finally breathe easier knowing that I had exactly what I wanted and it was completely ready to go.
Ana: Have you seen tangible benefits of the work we've done together up to this point?
Megan: Yes! I am adding subscribers on an incredibly consistent basis now. And, I finally have an amazing, fully functioning site and a brand that really speaks to my messaging and my aesthetic.
Ana: What did you like most about working with me?
Megan: You were incredibly easy to work with, communicate with, and answered any and all questions I had as soon as you were able. The extra training resources provided have made a world of difference in my ability to use my deliverables the best way possible.
Ana: What would you say to someone who is thinking about hiring someone like me but isn't quite ready yet?
Megan: Take the plunge. You wont regret it and honestly may be kicking yourself for waiting to start in the first place. This made a world of difference in my business and overall production. I can not recommend working with Ana enough.
