Mini Brand and Squarespace Template Restyle with Monica Parker
PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZER & CERTIFIED KON MARI CONSULTANT®
Monica Parker is a professional home organizer who helps women in Atlanta, GA metro area declutter and organize their home so they feel comfortable and confident inviting others over.
When Monica first reached out to me, she had no prior website. She was originally interested in my Template Restyle/Site Set Up Service as she is just starting out as a professional organizer.
In her words, she decided to hire me because she wanted a stress-free experience of getting a website done quickly and the Template Restyle service seemed like a perfect fit.
Monica wanted a website that would allow individuals looking for her expertise to be able to find her and understand how her services can help them turn their house into a welcoming home.
Project Goals
When we started working together, Monica originally wanted to base her website on the Carrie template. However, after some brainstorming and talking about her overall goals, we decided she would be better off choosing a multi-page template. Since SEO plays a crucial role in Monica’s website, having a website with more than page will give her more opportunities to infuse targeted keywords into her site. In the end she chose the Stella template due to its visual nature.
Monica wanted a website that:
→ Had a professional look that reflects her style but also her sense of organization and minimalism associated with decluttering
→ Defines well what she does, highlights past client reviews, and helps her grow her email list
→ Gives her a platform where she can share blog posts to demonstrate her expertise
The Process
Step 1: Brand Interview
We started off with a detailed brand interview where Monica filled me in on the vision for her website as well as the goals she has for business for the next 6 months.
Step 2: Visual Direction & Strategy
After getting clear on the project goals, I started working on the mood board that would serve as a visual direction for the design. I mapped out her customer journey and website strategy.
Step 3: Mini Brand Design
With the mood board complete, I started working on Monica’s brand which included color palette and typography curation. I’ve also included a simple logo design to round out the website and mini brand.
Step 4: Website Design
Once Monica approved the brand design, it was time to work on her Squarespace website design. This included restyling the Stella template to match Monica’s brand and integrating tools like Flodesk and TryInteract for list building. We’ve also incorporated all the relevant keywords throughout her website and connected Google Analytics and Search Console.
Colors & Fonts
We used a combination of light and dark teal colors for the website paired with plenty of white space to make the whole site look clean and uncluttered. I’ve also incorporated a dark purple color for the accent color and a dark blue instead of black for the text color.
I chose Cormorant Infant and Halyard Text as the font pairs for the website. The combination is clean and elegant, helping to maintain the polished and professional look.
Logo Designs
For the logo, I chose an elegant, thin serif typeface that looks sophisticated without being too serious and overwhelming.
Website Design
I brought together the color palette, finished logo design, fonts, and Monica’s brand photos to design a Squarespace website that guides Monica’s clients through an intentional customer journey.
The finished website combines the following key elements:
Core website pages: Home, About, Services, Contact,
Testimonials throughout the website so Monica can show the results she has gotten for her clients
Blog page that makes it easy for Monica to share her expertise and allows her ideal clients to get to know her better
The end result is a clean and minimal website that looks polished, showcases Monica’s services offers, and reflects her personality.
