How To Add Alt Text To Images In Squarespace
Adding alt text to your images helps boost your SEO. It also makes your images and website more accessible. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to add alt text to images in Squarespace.

Add an image block anywhere on your page.
Under Content options for the image, scroll down till you see Image Alt Text.
Enter text that accurately describes what’s on the image. For example, “woman working on a laptop” or “copywriter working on sales page copy”.
Hit Save and you’re done!
Alt text is basically used by the search engines to understand what the image represents because search engines cannot read cannot see pictures. They rely on alt text to tell them what that image is about.
Another way all text is used is assistive technologies such as screen readers for people with visual impairment disabilities. These technologies basically make your website more accessible to them because they use the alt text to “read” what’s in the image.
One thing to remember is that the alt text should be descriptive and describe what is on the image so don't worry too much about stuffing it with keywords or trying to be super scientific about it. Just describe accurately what is on the image and you'll be good to go.
