Seven ways to book more clients from your website

If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know I like to say your website is your Business Best Friend Forever, or BBFF for short. The reason I say this is because once you create a smart and strategic website, it can turn into your lead generation machine and basically make it easier to book clients on autopilot. A smart and strategic website means you don't have to spend countless time selling on social media or in person or go to countless networking events.

In today's video, I want to show you seven different ways you can use your website to book more clients.

1. Use a Lead Capture Form

Tip number one is to use a lead capture form. A lead capture form is basically similar to a contact form but instead of asking them for their contact information, you're also asking a few questions that can help you decide whether or not this person is your ideal client. A lead capture from helps you understand why they need to hire you and what type of services or programs they want or need from you. There are several ways to create a lead capture form:

  • Use Acuity Scheduling which allows you to book appointments and add intake forms at the time of appointment scheduling

  • Use a CRM like Dubsado, Honeybook, 17Hats or Satori

  • Go simple and use Typeform, Google Form or the Form Block in Squarespace

While the third option is the simplest one, keep in mind you’ll need to add an extra step to your booking process by sending them another email to schedule a call with you. That’s why services like Acuity Scheduling or Dubsado are better because they save you that extra step.

2. Add a Live Chat Option to Your Site

Tip number two to book more clients from your website is to install a live chat on your website. The reason this works is because when people see that you're available and that there is an option to talk to you, they will be more inclined to initiate a chat and this is your perfect opportunity to ask them why are they here how you can help them and get a sense of what they're looking for. You can then point them to a specific page in your site or to your booking form or a blog post that would be helpful. In other words, you can start to establish this personal relationship and connection that they need before they decide they are ready to start working with you.

3. Have an Opt-In Form

A third way that you can use your website to book more clients is to have an opt-in form. An opt-in form is just the form that you will use to collect their email address and get them on to your email list. Once they are on your email list, you can start building a relationship with them. You can start nurturing them and show your expertise, build that trust factor, and eventually they will turn from subscribers into your loyal clients and customers.

4. Showcase Testimonials

The fourth way to use your website to book more clients is to showcase testimonials. According to research, people actually trust testimonials as much as they do personal recommendations from their friends and family. If you have testimonials from past clients, then you definitely want to add them to your website. Like with lead capture forms, there are several ways to use them:

  • you can put them on your home page

  • you can put them on your services page

  • you can put them on your contact page

  • you can even share them on social media

  • you can share them in your newsletters or a nurture sequence

Testimonials are great because they basically show people that you know how to solve a particular problem and that people are happy after they've worked with you and gotten their results that they wanted.

5. Add a Blog

The fifth way to use your website to book more clients is to simply add a blog. A blog allows you to be found in the search engines. It allows people who are searching for a solution for their particular problem to find you and to land on your website. Once they find a solution on your website, they will be more likely to come back again as well as more likely to share your website with their network.

For example, if you're a health and wellness coach and you write a blog post about seven ways to reduce anxiety. A person who is looking for ways to reduce their anxiety or conquering their anxiety for good is more likely to come and click through to your website. But without writing that blog post, you won’t give them a chance to find you and you will be losing out on a lot of potential clients.

6. Link to Your Services Page in Social Media Bios

The sixth way that you can use your website to book more clients is to link to your services or your sales page instead of your home page. What I mean by this is that many social media networks like Twitter and Facebook and Instagram and LinkedIn allow you to link to your website. Now, most people link to their homepage and miss a golden opportunity. By linking to your homepage, you're basically putting the fate of your business into the hands of your clients. You're basically telling them — here's my website, you can come visit and then you can go wherever you want. This allows them to click through to your about page, to your blog, to your shop, to your services page, your contact page, and then leave without doing what you want them to do.

Instead of doing that, you can link to your services page or you can link to your free discovery call page or your sales page if you have a group program or a course that you're offering. Now, you’re sending them to a page that has a higher chance of converting them into leads, subscribers, and customers. You’re giving them an opportunity to show them what you do and how they can work with you.

You can also use the same approach if you're writing a guest post and they're allowing a link to your website. Link to any of the above pages or consider linking to a landing page that promotes your opt-in gift that gets them on to your email list and then puts them into a nurture sequence that allows you to build that relationship further.

7. Include a CTA

The seventh way to use your website to book more clients is to have a call to action. Here’s the thing babe, none of the actions that I mentioned before will work unless you have a very strong, very specific call to action. But, instead of using generic language like Buy now or Sign up or Register or Download, consider using power words and action words that get them excited to take action.

You want this call to action to be exciting, to get them fired up, to get them to want to take that action and to actually sign up for what your offering. Your website should have a call to action on almost every page that aligns with your overall business goals.
